Raf Simons to Dior

It seems I'm not the only one delighted by the talented Mr. Simons. Last week I was singing his praises in a belated Jil Sander tribute post, this week the world sings his praises too.

The Belgian minimilaist has nabbed the top job as artistic director at Dior, replacing John Galliano who was swiftly fired last february after going on an anti-Semitic public rant (très awkward Johnny). Simons will make his Dior debut at Paris couture week in July, now all we have to do is wait.

Infused Sugar

Instructions:

1. Zest the fruit you want to use to infuse your sugar by leaving it out overnight to dry.

2. Layer the sugar and zest in a glass container.

3. Let it infuse for one week minimum.

4.  If using lavender, vanilla or espresso beans, you can remove them by straining the infused sugar into   a bowl before using it in a recipe or coffee.

Jil Sander

I know it's a season past but I still haven't recovered from the Jil Sander fall 2012 runway collection. I love each and every look desperately. This was Raf Simons' final collection for Jil Sander and its poignant beauty did not go unnoticed with the audience standing in a tearful ovation for the finale and rushing without restraint onto the runway. The balance of neutrals with candy colours, the sheer elegance of the tailoring... what a dream.
